The Russian state-owned company Rostec stated that about ten advanced models of reconnaissance and attack drones are in use by Russian forces in their military operation in Ukraine.
According to the company, the platforms include different classes and formats, from fixed-wing aircraft to hybrid systems with vertical takeoff, all developed with modern technologies, including additive manufacturing. The corporation emphasizes that these equipment are mass-produced and continuously employed in the conflict.
Among the systems mentioned are the kamikaze drones Kub and the observation models SKAT 350M, both manufactured by the Kalashnikov consortium, which have reportedly shown high effectiveness in combat. Rostec claims that, with the help of these devices, Russian troops have already destroyed thousands of Ukrainian targets, including positions considered strategic for the defense of Kiev’s forces. The reconnaissance drones would play a central role in locating firing positions, temporary movements, and enemy equipment, even when camouflaged.
The company adds that, after detection, the targets are attacked by artillery, attack drones, missiles, or aircraft. Kalashnikov also manufactures the Granat-4 drones, designed for continuous reconnaissance and the transmission of precise coordinates for fire support. The company Shvabe, part of Rostec, manufactures interceptor drones intended to neutralize hostile mini-drones.
Rostec also highlights that it internally develops controllers, engines, optical sensors, composite materials, identification systems, and other critical components for its line of unmanned equipment.
